Doll and the Kicks.
Opened the 2009 Moz tour… unsigned / no US management.
Keep an eye on these guys.  Doll is a star with Karen O, Gwen Stefani, and Kate Bush style vocals in one.  Plus she’s way cuter than all of them.
Blew my fucking mind last night at the Echoplex in Los Angeles.

WTF? Charlie Watts Quits the Rolling Stones

Apparently, Charlie Watts (Stones’ drummer) has said “peace out” to the band he’s played with since 1963.  At 68 years old, he claims he just doesn’t want to do it anymore.  Sad day for the Stones, just 3 years shy of their 50th anniversary.

50 years?  Sheesh.

The Flaming Lips at the Greek - one for the memory bank

Last night, my teenage dream came true: Dance on stage with The Flaming Lips! Couldn’t have wished or hoped for a more perfect, surreal night.  From helpful, pleasant (omg!) security and crew, to dancing in the wings, to Yoshimi, to giant balloons and confetti, to brand new costumes from Tokyo, to meeting Wayne Coyne and him being nicer than I could have imagined = a permanent smile on my face.  I can die happy.

Photoblog below.

Bummed these guys are calling it quits.  Super bummed.
